Back To School Dorm Etiquette

Starting college is such an exciting time!

Navigating college as a freshman is a balancing act to say the least; you have to share a space with strangers, manage your time to complete assignments on time, and most importantly manage your whole life for what is likely the first time ever.

Dorm etiquette will help set the foundation for lasting friendships and a successful college experience.

Dorms and shared spaces can get crowded, so be mindful of noise levels, clean up after yourself, and be considerate when using communal areas. Communicate openly and kindly with your roommates and classmates. Say what you mean and mean what you say, establish boundaries early on. Use ear buds/pods to keep conversations, music, and other noises at a reasonable volume, especially late at night or during midterms and finals season.

Congratulations on your freshman year and I wish you much success!
