"What happens in this house..."
Do you remember the saying, “What happens in this house, stays in this house?” I do! My grandmother told me that all the time, likely because she didn’t want outsiders in our family business. There is something to be said about discretion and privacy - which became nil with the rise and influence of social media.
We have been fed a false narrative that our entire life is an open book for the world to read. Not true. That is a lie from the pit of hell. Unless harm is brought upon a child or another individual I highly recommend that some things in life be kept private.
My son’s are 30 and 35 and were in high school when Facebook became popular. Both of them came to me, on separate occasions, and asked me to remove all of their photos from my profile and not share anything about them online. I was shocked and appalled. But, I complied. Much to my chagrin. Now, I get it. What right did I have sharing baby pictures and their life events online without their permission. Their photos are their intellectual property.
Now, this reasoning may seem a bit outlandish but I’m sure one day this will become a legal case.
In the meantime, here are some privacy manners
1. Don't advertise your (happy or not happy) marriage on social media.
2. Do not advertise pregnancy on social media.
3.Don't advertise your kids achievements on social media.
4. Don't advertise your expensive buys on social media.
UNDERSTAND THIS ABOUT LIFE...
1. Not everyone is going to be happy for you.
2. Most of the "nice" comments you get are just fake.
3.You just attracting the evil eye on you and your family.
4. You just attracting jealous people into your life.
5. You don't know who's saving your pictures and checking your updates.
Let a part of your life remain private.
